Dancing in the streets (with OK Go)

Range Rover have teamed up with LA-based band OK Go to produce ‘Dance through your city’, a project to ‘create an amazing, geo-mapping, street parade in celebration of their home city’. Using GPS technology and the iPhone or Android app, fans can draw their own geo-art using the streets of their hometowns.

We built a site to help fans along with a gallery where they can upload images and video. We also included a chat application that brings together live feeds from Facebook and Twitter. Continue Reading →

Social party

Party Wars is the next Living TV show to get the El Mys chat aggregator treatment (see ‘Talking Tyra’ and ‘Love Social Buzz’). To have a look at our integrated Twitter and Facebook application, head over to partywarschat.livingtv.co.uk. Our software collects all the latest buzz about the show on both social networks and automatically brings in the latest tweets and Facebook posts as they happen. And as if that wasn’t enough, Party Wars fans can add their own tweets/posts straight from the site and join the conversation with the Living TV editors straight from the site. Party time! Talking Tyra

El Mysterioso’s social chat aggregator for Britain’s Next Top Model was a big hit (see ‘Love Social Buzz’). So much so, that Living TV decided to use a similar service for the American version of the show. Now you can follow all the gossip about Tyra and the would-be models at http://antmchat.livingtv.co.uk/

Thanks to the easily extensible nature of our original application, it was a breeze to roll out the America’s Next Top Model version (with new search terms, design and graphics). As before, it searches Twitter and Facebook for relevant posts and displays them in a live updating stream. Users can sign in from either social network and join the conversation with the Living TV editors straight from the site. Enjoy the show! Continue Reading →

Facebook tales (Inspired by Iceland)

El Mys built a Facebook app for people to share inspirational stories, photos and videos about Iceland. Our application was part of a wider campaign by the Icelandic government to promote tourism, and was launched to coincide with ‘Iceland Hour’.

In his Iceland Hour address, President Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson said: ‘The people of Iceland have always been proud and honoured to share our country with others, to invite you to enjoy the contrast and the colours Continue Reading →

Love social buzz?

Virgin Media wanted a site that could capture the social media buzz surrounding their TV shows, starting with Britain’s Next Top Model. Our application searches for posts about the programme on Twitter and Facebook, then collates them into a single live stream. Virgin can curate the search, adding in new terms as the series progresses, and interact directly with their audience in real time.

With a little tweaking, we can add in whatever social network is flavour of the day (hello Google Buzz and Diaspora, goodbye MySpace), and we’ll be rolling out new versions for other Virgin Media shows soon. Watch this space…
